[my friend]: Wait?!?!? OMG!!! You saw Got7 at the airport?!?!?!
[me]: Yuh… I saw Got7 at the airport…
[my friend]: How?!?!?! Tell me the deets!!!
[me]: ok… Here’s the story…
It all happened on a Thursday back in my sophomore year of college. I was in my genetics lecture and you know how genetics lectures are... boring and dry as h*ll, especially when you have a professor who doesn’t know the definition of interesting. So, as the professor was boring the class to death with her lesson on genetic fly mutations and lac operons, I stared blankly across the room, wishing that it would end. Ugh…. Thinking back, I still can’t believe how I survived that boring class. Like really? How is it possible for a professor to turn a boring subject into a knockout bomb? It’s like she was that jigglypuff that followed Ash around in Pokemon. Her voice kept singing a constant lullaby to my brain, slowly draining whatever energy I had left to keep my eyes open. It was to the point that my head was lying on my laptop.
[sophomore me]: Ugh… Why is life so boring? Will I just be some boring guy for the rest of my life? God, please give me a sign for adventure!
(Beep… Beep)
[my conscience]: I think you wanna check your phone...
Before my professor used up the last ounce of my remaining energy, I took out my phone and couldn’t believe what I saw - a sign for adventure. It was a text message from my friends about a certain KPOP group arriving at the airport in about 2 hours.
Let’s call them Pickle and Kimchi because I don’t want total weirdos stalking my friends now.
But anyways… Even if this was a sign of adventure, I was still chained by my many doubts. Should I go or not go? Will we be able to make it on time? Should I be studying today or not? Is it even possible to actually see a KPOP group in an airport? All of these questions restrained my urge to go. However, I also ask myself, “Will I ever get another chance like this?” After a lot of thinking, I was like “screw it.” I began to close out of the lecture slides, packed my things, and snuck out of class to meet up with my friends. (Don’t worry. I left when she was answering other people’s questions after her lecture was over.)
[my friend]: What happened next?
[me]: Well... you have to wait until next time in Part 2.
