Poor College Students Hacks: How to Get a Free Meal in College

*As you read this post, please remember to build that good karma! Our parents taught us to help those in need. No matter how big or small the act is, if you can afford to do it, do it! You’re feeding into the good karma cycle! If you don’t expect anything in return, somehow the world magically works out and when you need it most. Some stranger will step up and help you!

So please don’t take this as an excuse to take advantage of others! Use it as motivation to work hard (and smart) to create opportunities for those around you!

[Poor College Student looking through his fridge]: crap...I’m out of food...I’M GONNA STARVE!

[Annoyed Upperclassman] : Ugh...yo take a chill pill. You’re not going to starve because I have a solution for you.

For you commuters who’re away from home, I feel you when you run out of food in the fridge, and you don’t have time to get groceries. We college students are busy people! It’s a full time job studying 24/7! So, I’m gonna tell you, my readers, two major hacks to potentially get FREE food. Yes, I said it. FREE FOOD

  1. Food Swipes/Points from Other Students: Do you know any friends who have a lot of food swipes? If so, then you hit the jackpot for free food at the dining hall because the school gives out too many food swipes that expire by the end of the semester and a lot of people never finish them. Dang that’s a waste of money 😭! So, it’s your job and duty to help finish your friends’ food swipes. Call them up and ask them to help with their soon to be expired meal plan! It’s FREE FOOD we’re talking about. You don’t want to starve to death before graduating right? Also if you’re that type of person to do something back in return, help them with school or treat them out if you save up some money in the future! My brother has a lot of great posts on how you can find ways to save money and spend on things you like, so please check him out! (I’ll link them below).

  2. Religion Centers: If you’re religious, want FREE FOOD, or even BOTH, check to see if one of your school’s religious organizations hosts free lunches during the week. Like for my school, the Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) provides FREE lunch every Tuesday. The good people in this organization do their best to help students like you through spreading their faith and making sure that no one goes hungry. They have a mission to help people in need, and you, my friends are in need of some food! So, find your community and see if they offer any ways to help! Or if you can chip in and help one of those orgs by donating your time or even a little bit of money whenever it comes into your pockets, do it!

Alright! There you have it! Short and simple. Now go out there and start filling your empty bellies!
